Host: Rachel Cooke, Chief Operating Officer, Brandon Hall Group

In this episode of HCMx Radio, we meet with Dr. Carol Vallone Mitchell, Cofounder of Talent Strategy Partners, Author of Breaking Through “Bitch”: How Women Can Shatter Stereotypes and Lead Fearlessly, and HuffPost writer.  Carol discusses the gender research she conducted over a span of 15 years that resulted in the development of the Women’s Leadership BlueprintÔ.  The research based assessment tool offers individuals the ability to identify and discover their leadership talents.  The assessment tool can be instrumental for organizations to help educate and bring awareness to the differences amongst male and female leadership strengths.  It’s about finding balance and bringing out distinct leadership traits that can offer greater insight into decision making and problem-solving.

Not only is having diverse leaders the right thing for businesses, but it is the smart thing to do. A 2014 study published in the Journal of Economics & Management Strategy verified that teams of with gender parity could expect a revenue gain as much as 41%.

“Organizations can improve gender equality in the workplace by valuing women leaders[and], through promoting more women into leadership,” said Carol.“It is going to shift the culture of the organization by reinforcing that the new and diverse leadership skills are what matter.”
