The coronavirus pandemic altered the evolution of learning from formal, event-based training to continuous, performance-focused learning into overdrive.
Everything in the workplace is changing at an unprecedented pace. Organizations now expect L&D to be the driving force for developing an agile workforce. In fact, Brandon Hall Group research shows that:
- L&D has had a moderate or significant impact on 62% of organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- 68% of organizations have leveraged learning moderately or significantly to reskill employees during the pandemic.
Going forward, 60% of organizations see replacing in-person training content as a major challenge and 52% say the same about reskilling in-person instructors for virtual environments, BHG research shows.
While L&D made a business impact during this unprecedented time, more challenges lie ahead. That is why Brandon Hall Group is launching the Certified Learning Strategist program. It provides individual learning professionals and entire learning teams with the full set of competencies needed to drive organizational performance in the new era of work.
Learning professionals who earn the Certified Learning Strategist (CLS) designation:
- Are positioned as business leaders with expertise in strategic learning and development
- Develop broad capabilities to undertake a variety of roles that leverage learning to improve business outcomes
- Expand their ability to collaborate with a broad group of stakeholders across the enterprise.
The CLS program is a learning journey free of ratings or grades. It is focused solely on enabling learning professionals to understand and apply new competencies to drive business results in their organizations. Brandon Hall Group’s Learning and Development experts, with more than 120 years of collective experience, are available throughout the certification process to answer questions and provide support.
The future will be complex. Our research shows most organizations will deploy flex scheduling and keep significant portions of the workforce working remotely at least part-time. Two-thirds of organizations intend to increase digital learning but also plan to keep the learning budget flat or reduce it.
Driving performance through learning in this environment requires strategists with competencies that extend beyond the learning function, which is what the CLS program addresses. The program draws on Brandon Hall Group’s ongoing research in all areas of human capital management and our extensive library of case studies from Fortune 1000 companies across the globe.
